- 1st Touch
- An analyst tags your match while it is played. Your stats are ready as the match ends, and on live plans the full analysis is with you within the hour.
- WhoScored
- Ratings refresh every 30 seconds during the match. Opta corrects its stats after full-time, so the number can still move.
Accurate data
- 1st Touch
- Every pass, duel and touch is tagged by a person who watched it happen, then checked by a second person before it reaches you.
- WhoScored
- Each event is weighted by its area of the pitch and its outcome. It knows what the feed recorded, but can't show you the moment.

- WhoScored
- Built for fans and fantasy managers. Your rating sits on a public page for anyone to see.

Every player starts on 6.0 out of 10. WhoScored's algorithm then weighs more than 200 Opta stats live, rating each event by where on the pitch it happened and how it ended, and updates every 30 seconds. At full-time, team goals scored and conceded and clean sheets add or take away points, adjusted for position and minutes played. The full formula isn't published.
WhoScored says Opta reviews and corrects its stats a few minutes after the final whistle, and can correct them again later, so the rating can move after full-time. 1st Touch has a second person check every action before you see it, so the numbers you get are already reviewed.
They are consistent: one algorithm on one data feed for every player. But a single number can't tell you which pass or duel made the difference, and detailed stats only exist in the leagues WhoScored covers with Opta. 1st Touch tags every action of your match live and gives you the clip behind each number.
